Just round the corner from The Gateway Centre at Caxton House on Borough Road is South Bank University’s Free Legal Advice Clinic. This face-to-face advice service is staffed by trained Student Clinic Volunteers working under the supervision of practising solicitors. It enables the students to gain practical skills whilst providing a much needed community service.
The LSBU Legal Advice Clinic is open Wednesdays (11am – 2pm) and Thursdays (2pm-5pm) during term time (in 2012: 31 Jan – 10 May, and 26 Sept – 13 Dec).
- We provide basic information on any topic.
- We provide generalist advice in welfare benefits, consumer issues, employment,
family and housing.
- We can direct you to appropriate local advice and legal services
- We provide specialist legal advice in family and housing at Thursday evening sessions
(accessible via our daytime drop-ins).
