Gateway Centre Healthy Eating Project: Every Wednesday 12 – 2pm

Come along to our Healthy Eating Project at The Gateway Centre where you can learn how to cook delicious healthy meals from around the world as well as cakes and other treats all as part of a friendly group.

Gloria, who is running the project, emphasises the importance of food both nutritionally and socially: “there is a lot we can learn from the different cultures and cuisines from around the world: as well as learning about healthy eating and good nutrition, this project hopes to help us learn about each other and to bring the community together.”

The sessions are free and everyone is welcome, come along on Wednesday at midday, there wont always be enough for everyone to have a full lunch – but hopefully we should all get to try some!

Photos from the Get To Know Gateway Event!

Here are a few of the excellent photos from our Get To Know Gateway Event last Friday 18th November. The photos were taken by our brilliant volunteer Ijeoma. There will be even more next week! Can you spot yourself in any of them?

People gathering outside, enjoying the free teas and coffees

People enjoyed our excellent free food and drink, whilst mingling and talking to each other as well as staff and volunteers about the services, classes and programmes they’d like to see at the Gateway

Visitors enjoying the free Batik session

Visitors also got a chance to take part in some taster sessions of the classes that the Gateway Centre runs, such as Clothes Making and Batik on Thursdays at 10.30am and Introductory Art sessions on Mondays at 2pm. Check back for more photos soon!
